Films
It is rather interesting to me that there have been so many film adaptations of Jane Austen's novels. There was one in the 1940's starring Greer Garson (as Elizabeth Bennett) and Laurence Olivier (as Mr. Darcy).

Shakespeare: Sonnet 116
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;

Reading together
I love reading Jane Austen. My husband and I are reading every night to each other, taking turn, reading from "101 Things You Didn't Know About Jane Austen." Reading aloud in the evening is a family tradition, seemingly lost or discarded, but certainly a tradition that can be revived. I have a blog on MSN Spaces that lists the many books I've read throughout the year. It's called Susan Mendell's Books of 2008. Please visit me!
